How to Setup Tracking App using Google Analytics
Tracking is a process in which you keep track of a user’s actions while playing video/audio content to determine the engagement level of a user. Tracking lets you know how often media was played, for how long a user played it, how often a video was paused or resumed, provides real-time insights, and much more. Tracking affiliate events can also reveal broken links or poor user experiences. All user activity on media is calculated and displayed as Events in the Media Analytics or Quality of Experience (QoE) reporting interface of VIDIZMO. Other Tracking options supported by VIDIZMO for media analytics include:
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics is a free web analytics tool offered by Google to help you analyze your website traffic. VIDIZMO integrates with Google Analytics to allow you to analyze detailed information about the users on the Portal and create robust reports. Google Analytics provides various ways to access, organize, and visualize data to suit business needs.
Prerequisite
- Users who belongs to a group where the Tracking permission is enabled can access this feature.
Steps
- From the Portal's Homepage: i. Click on the menu icon on the top left-hand corner of the screen to open the left navigation pane. ii. Click on the down arrow to expand the Admin section. iii. Select Settings to open the Portal Settings navigation panel.

In the Portal Settings navigation pane:
i. Click on Apps to expand the list of available operations. ii. Select Tracking to set up the Google Analytics tracking app. iii. Click on the settings icon.
iv. In the Google Analytics - Settings popup window, enter your Google Analytics ID. v. Click on the Save changes button.

vi. Turn on the feature using the toggle button to enable Google Analytics tracking.
